In June 2024, Dr Sin Yong travelled to Dubai as an ilooda International Key Opinion Leader invited to share his clinical expertise in a multi-clinic hands-on programme — sharing his clinical protocols for Secret Duo RF Microneedling, Erbium Glass Laser, and the 4K Body Lift with aesthetic physicians across the UAE.

Clinical Exchange Across Dubai

Unlike lecture-based symposia, the ilooda International KOL Training in Dubai was a clinic-to-clinic, hands-on programme — in which Dr Sin Yong was invited to share his clinical expertise with local physicians through live device operation, patient demonstrations, and protocol discussion. Across multiple clinic visits over the programme, Dr Sin Yong worked directly with attending physicians at their own facilities, adapting his protocols to the local patient population and clinical environment.

The Middle East represents one of the fastest-growing markets for energy-based aesthetic medicine, with a patient population characterised by Skin Types 3–5, significant demand for skin brightening and rejuvenation, and growing interest in non-surgical body contouring. The Dubai programme was tailored to address these specific clinical priorities through the ilooda Secret Duo platform.

“Hands-on training in the clinic setting is where real knowledge transfer happens. You cannot fully convey needle depth selection, tip pressure, or the tactile feedback of RF Microneedling through a lecture alone. Being in the room with the device, with a patient on the table, is the only way to truly pass on a clinical protocol.”

Novomed Clinic — Knowledge Exchange

One of the clinical visits during the Dubai programme was to Novomed Clinic, a multi-speciality medical group in the UAE. The visit was a knowledge exchange session, at which Dr Sin Yong was invited to share his clinical expertise in treatment planning, patient selection, and outcome optimisation using the ilooda Secret Duo.

The Novomed visit also reflected the broader purpose of the ilooda International KOL Training model — not simply to demonstrate what a device can do, but to share the clinical reasoning behind each protocol step with clinic teams.

Live Demonstrations — Secret Duo RF Microneedling

The centrepiece of the Dubai meeting was a series of live Secret Duo RF Microneedling demonstrations — with Dr Sin Yong performing the treatment and sharing his clinical expertise while the attending clinic teams observed and asked questions. This format mirrors how Dr Sin Yong is invited to share his clinical expertise in MINT Facelift, Liquid True Lift, and BTX techniques — prioritising live clinical demonstration over lecture alone.

Secret Duo RF Microneedling — Protocol Highlights Shared

Across the Dubai sessions, Dr Sin Yong shared his full Secret Duo RF Microneedling protocol, including:

“The Middle Eastern patient population has distinct needs — darker skin types, a high prevalence of melasma, and significant patient demand for skin brightening and body sculpting. The Secret Duo is well suited to this market because the RF Microneedling component is colour-blind: needle-delivered energy bypasses the epidermis, which is why it is often considered for Skin Types 3 to 5, where surface laser treatment can carry higher risk.”

Second Clinic Visit — Group Knowledge-Sharing Session

The programme also extended to a second Dubai clinic, where Dr Sin Yong was invited to share his clinical expertise with a group of attending physicians in a combined didactic-and-practical session. Dr Sin Yong covered the clinical evidence base for the ilooda Secret Duo, walked through his treatment protocols and patient selection criteria, and fielded questions from the assembled clinical team before moving to the live demonstration component.

This multi-clinic format — reaching different physician teams across different practice environments — reflects ilooda’s approach to KOL education: rather than concentrating sessions in a single venue, the programme brings expert-level clinical knowledge directly into the clinical environment where it will be practised.

The 4K Body Lift in Dubai

A key component of the Dubai programme was the presentation of the 4K Body Lift protocol to the Middle Eastern physician community. The 4K Body Lift — Dr Sin Yong’s proprietary focused RF body contouring protocol — uses the ilooda Secret Duo’s RF capabilities to deliver concentrated energy to point zones of compact, resistant subcutaneous fat. With results that build gradually over a course planned individually at consultation, the protocol offers non-surgical body sculpting without anaesthesia or incisions, and with recovery discussed at consultation.

In the Dubai context, where demand for body contouring is high and patient expectations for non-surgical results are particularly elevated, the 4K Body Lift protocol was received with strong clinical interest. Dr Sin Yong shared his zone-specific application approach with the attending physicians, energy calibration, and the patient communication framework that sets realistic expectations.

ilooda — International KOL Education Across the Middle East

The Dubai 2024 meeting was part of ilooda’s broader international KOL clinical-exchange initiative — bringing invited clinical experts directly to physician communities across Asia, the Middle East, and beyond. Dr Sin Yong’s role as an ilooda International KOL, invited to share his clinical expertise on the Secret Duo, places him within this global knowledge-sharing effort, carrying protocols developed and refined at his Orchard Road practice in Singapore to clinical communities around the world.

His invitation to the Dubai programme reflects the confidence ilooda places in both the clinical outcomes he achieves with their platforms and his ability to communicate complex protocol nuance in a way that translates directly into clinical practice for attending physicians.

“Every time I take a protocol internationally — whether to Seoul, Dubai, or beyond — it sharpens my own thinking. Physicians in different markets ask different questions, encounter different patient presentations, and have different clinical environments. That exchange makes the protocol stronger, and ultimately benefits my own patients back in Singapore.”

“A device behaves differently on different skin. What holds in one population is a hypothesis everywhere else until someone checks.”
